Graviola is a small, upright evergreen tree that grows up to 20 ft. in height, produces large dark green and glossy leaves and a large heart-shaped edible fruit, green in color and white flesh. It is indigenous to most of the warmest tropical areas in South America, including the Amazon. The fruit is sold in local markets in the tropics where it is called Guanabana and is excellent for drinks, ice creams and even to be eaten directly.

All parts of the Graviola tree are used in natural medicine including bark, leaves, roots, fruit and fruit-seeds but definitely the leaves are the more important.
